Album: U transu sa nepoznatim siluetama
Label: Winterblast Halls/Dark Chants Productions
Genre: black metal
How I love when my words become reality he he. Couple of years ago I wrote article for Blessed altair zine about Serbian black metal scene. There I wrote: “Zloslut is one of the names that’ll definitively going to be significant in the future”. And here we are couple of years after that sentence, Zloslut are presenting their second full length album “U transu sa nepoznatim siluetama”. On this record, these guys continue experimenting with the formula which already gave them success in the past, and that’s the mix of black metal with elements of post-rock. Also they used choir chants in song“Kletva Ožalošćenog” and clean vocals in“Crni um”, which I really like, they just perfectly fit in the music and atmosphere of the record. “U transu sa nepoznatim siluetama” contains variety of emotions: misanthropy, melancholy, rage, sadness, hate… All that well balanced, making record consistent. Their style of black metal minimalistic, raw, with lot of mid tempo and fast parts and blast beats. Production is raw, done in an old school way, and generally, here is space left for improvement. Lyrics are written in Serbian and they’re (again) great, but they already became some kind of Zloslut’s “trademark”. The only minus on this record is instrumental“Transcendentalni Ples Ludila” which is in my opinion unnecessary track. All in all, this is huge step forward for Zloslut and I’m more than convinced that their best is yet to come. Serbian scene brought many killer black metal acts, in the beginning of 2000’s we had The stone, May result, Simargal, Introitus… Some of them(like The Stone) are highly respected in worldwide UG movement. Now it’s time for second wave of great black metal bands from Serbia, and Zloslut is (along with Kolac) on the leaders of that horde.
